How Our Fence Referral Works
Lubbock Fence Install is a referral website, not a fence company. We send your request to one independent local fence company. You never pay us; companies we refer you to may pay us for referrals.
The people behind the site
The Gadget Aid, LLC, a New Jersey limited liability company, runs Lubbock Fence Install. We publish the guides on this site and pass fence requests to a local company. We have no crews, trucks, yard or materials, and we don't build, repair or inspect fences.
The guides are researched from public sources: the National Weather Service, Texas Tech's National Wind Institute, the USDA soil survey, the City of Lubbock and nearby city websites, Texas statutes, the Texas Department of Insurance and national cost guides. Each guide lists its sources at the bottom. Prices are national ranges with the date we checked them. They are not quotes.
What happens to your request
- You fill in the form. It asks for your name, phone number, town, the kind of fence work, how soon you need it and an optional note. To begin, send a request with the form.
- We pass it to one company. Your request goes to one independent fence company that serves the area. It isn't posted to a bidding board or sold to a list.
- That company may call you. It decides whether it can take the job, then handles measuring, pricing and scheduling directly with you.
- You make the call. There's no obligation to hire the company. Any contract is between you and it.
How the site is paid for
Using this site costs you nothing. Companies we refer you to may pay us for referrals, and that is how the site is funded. We don't mark up the company's price or collect money for the work.
What we don't do
- Build, repair, inspect or supervise fence work
- Measure your yard, quote prices or take payment for fence jobs
- Vouch for a company's workmanship, schedule or prices
- Give legal, survey, insurance or building-code advice
- Send you marketing texts or emails
For permits, call your city's building office. For property lines, use a surveyor. For coverage questions, ask your insurance agent.
Checking any fence company before you sign
These steps apply whether you hire the company we connect you with or someone you found yourself:
- Get the full scope in writing: length, height, materials, post type and depth, gates, old-fence removal and total price.
- Ask whether the company is registered with the City of Lubbock. The city requires building and general contractors working in Lubbock to register with Building Safety.
- Ask for a certificate of liability insurance, and check that the name on it matches the company on the contract.
- Ask about warranty terms for materials and workmanship, and get them in writing.
- Ask who places the 811 locate request before digging.
- Keep payments in proportion. The Texas Department of Insurance advises never paying the entire bill up front and being wary of a large down payment.
Problems and requests
If something goes wrong with the work, contact the company first, since the agreement is with it. If that doesn't resolve it, or you want us to stop passing along your requests, email [email protected]. We can stop referring to a company that treats homeowners unfairly. For how we handle your information, read the privacy policy.
Lubbock Fence Install is a referral website, not a fence installation and repair company, and does not do the work. We send your request to one independent local fence company. You never pay us; companies we refer you to may pay us for referrals. Prices, scheduling and the work itself come from that company. Check any company's credentials and get written terms before you hire. How this works.
